Safetech Innovations, partner in the Cyber Security Essentials Academy 2026 project led by ATIC

Education and information are essential for developing a strong cybersecurity culture. With this belief in mind, Safetech Innovations joins the Cyber Security Essentials 2026 Academy, an initiative of the Information and Communication Technology Association (ATIC), contributing to the realization of four of the 26 educational episodes.

As cyber threats become more complex, and digital technologies are increasingly present in the activity of companies, institutions and in everyday life, the need for information and education in the field of cybersecurity is increasing. Protection against cyberattacks is no longer only the responsibility of IT specialists, but involves the involvement of management, employees and each technology user.

Safetech Innovations constantly supports this information process through specialized articles, analyses, webinars and educational materials distributed on its website and through communication and social media channels.

Participation in the Cyber Security Essentials 2026 Academy is a natural continuation of these activities, but also an opportunity to contribute to a broader educational effort. Through ATIC, the expertise and resources of the partners involved are brought together in a joint project, which can reach a larger audience and generate a greater impact than individual initiatives.

26 episodes, six thematic directions

The Cyber Security Essentials 2026 Academy proposes a series of 26 video episodes, available for free on YouTube, in which specialists from different fields explain the main challenges of cybersecurity, the current risks and the measures by which organizations and users can protect themselves.

The content is structured in six thematic directions:

1. Cyber threats and geopolitical context – phishing, ransomware, ethical hacking, hybrid warfare and national security.

2. Education, behavior and citizen protection – cyber hygiene, safety of children and vulnerable people, online fraud, deepfakes and manipulation.

3. European regulations and management responsibility – NIS2, DORA, Cyber Resilience Act and transforming legislative requirements into concrete security measures.

4. Technologies and new digital vulnerabilities – artificial intelligence, cloud, IoT, robotics, security of connected equipment and supply chains.

5. Critical infrastructure and societal safety – protecting essential services in energy, health, transport, water and other areas.

6. Cyber resilience and crisis management – incident detection and management, systems recovery and business continuity.

An important element of the project is the diversity of perspectives. The Academy brings together cybersecurity experts, representatives of public institutions, regulatory specialists, university professors, researchers, journalists and professionals from the technology industry.

This approach allows cybersecurity to be presented not only from a technical perspective, but also in terms of economic, social, legislative and organizational impact.

Four Safetech Innovations specialists contribute to the Cyber Security Essentials Academy

Safetech Innovations participates in the project through four of its specialists with experience in the field of cybersecurity: Ionuț Georgescu, Mihail Guranda, Emil Simion and Iulian Alecu. Each one contributes with a dedicated intervention, in which the professional experience and knowledge gained in the daily activity are transformed into useful information and recommendations for the public.

Ionuț Georgescu, CEO, Safetech Innovations. With over 20 years of experience in IT and information security, he has been coordinating the company’s executive activity since January 2026. Previously, he held management positions in cybersecurity operations and services.

Mihail George Guranda, GRC Specialist, Safetech Innovations. With over 25 years of legal experience and over seven years in cybersecurity regulation, he coordinated, within DNSC, the team responsible for transposing the NIS2 Directive into Romanian legislation.

Iulian Alecu, Strategic Business Developer, Safetech Innovations. Specialist in developing cybersecurity solutions, with experience in addressing NIS2 and DORA requirements and their implications for organizations.

Dr. Emil Simion, expert in cybersecurity, Safetech Innovations, and associate professor at POLITEHNICA Bucharest. Researcher with over 30 years of experience in cybersecurity, cryptology and information security, involved in European research projects.

By participating in the Academy, Safetech aims to contribute to bridging the gap between the technical complexity of cybersecurity and the public’s level of understanding. Information about risks, vulnerabilities and protective measures becomes truly valuable when it can be understood and applied in practice.

The value of the ATIC project lies precisely in bringing together complementary skills and perspectives. Through the collaboration between companies, institutions, academia and independent specialists, educational messages can reach more diverse audiences and contribute to the development of a culture of cybersecurity at the level of the entire society.
